The new Enabling e-Learning online ‘hub’ for ICT-related education resources and programmes in New Zealand is the Ministry of Education’s web site for bringing together everything that school leaders and teachers need to improve their e-learning practice.
Th site is well set out and provides detailed information as well as resources regarding the e-Learning Planning Framework.
The framework provides schools and teachers with:
- a self-review tool for schools to gather evidence about practice
- a ‘road map’ for building e-learning capability
- a tool to evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning programmes
- resources and services to support schools as they build capability.
This is underpinned but an e-learning philosophy that Best practice e-learning enables accessible, relevant, and high-quality learning opportunities that improve student engagement and achievement. e-Learning has the potential to transform the way teaching and learning takes place. It is about using technologies effectively across the curriculum to connect schools and communities and to provide accessible, relevant, and high-quality learning opportunities so that every student is better able to achieve their full potential.
